Wafu-kai

Dorothy Seiko Chu has studied Wafu Ikebana in Cupertino for 14 years under the tutorship of Fusako Seiyo Hoyrup. She holds Wafu-kai’s Sanyo teaching degree.  She has served on the school’s board of directors for several years and recently retired from a career in the high tech industry.

Sandra Hatcher
Ikenobo Ikebana

Sandra Hatcher has studied Ikenobo Ikebana since 1994 and was the first recipient of the Ikenobo Ikebana Northern California Scholarship and has studied at Ikenobo Hq. in Kyoto.  Locally she studies with Senior Professor Mieko Taketa.  She holds a  Sokako certificate (Professor 1st Grade).

Dianne Krueger
Enshu School

Dianne Krueger has studied Enshu Ikebana with Sakae Ichiei Sakaki for the past 15 years and received her Intermediate Certificate in 2007.  While continuing her studies in Enshu, she also studies Reiki, a Japanese healing practice.

Jane Naito
Sogetsu School

Jane Naito has studied Sogetsu Ikebana since 2004 and has been an exhibitor in the 2011 Flower Show and in the last three Sogetsu ArtScape shows.  She will represent I.I. as one of three exhibitors at the 2012 Bouquets to Art show. Jane is also a volunteer worker at a homeless shelter.

Aratame School

Toshiko Gyokuho Shaw has extensive training in three Schools of ikebana since 1956:  Ikenobo (in Japan), Wafukai,  and currently Aratame under the guidance of Sumi Metz. She teaches ikebana classes at her church and in her home and has exhibited frequently for Ikebana International.

Keith Souza-Courpet
Chiko School

Keeth Souza-Courpet began studying Chiko School     in 2007 with Michiko Hosoda and joined I.I. in 2008.  She exhibited in I.I. flower shows in 2009 and 2011 and now continues studies in Chiko School with Christina Schuknecht.  She feels that ikebana helps her achieve harmony and balance in her life.

Mitsuko Umemoto
Ohara School

Mitsuko Umemoto has studied Ohara Ikebana for 35
years.  She received a Retail Florist Certificate from
San Francisco City College.  She continues studies with Kayoko Suiyo Fujimoto and is a Second Associate
Master.  She is a member of the Ikebana Teachers Federation and the North American Ohara Teachers Association.
